A Celebration Of Blessings!

Updated: Feb 14, 2024

In any given year, month, or week there will inevitably be something worth celebrating. There are so many reasons to be thankful! This past weekend held the most recent opportunity for my family. We had 3 birthdays to celebrate and all 3 of my sons and their families came together to do just that. I'm sure if you've ever tried getting your adult children together at one time, you'll understand how challenging that can be. But we did it, and it was WONDERFUL!!

Every story we rehashed, every new milestone the kids showed off, and every moment I took soaking it all in was a blessing for me. It was God's birthday present to me. You know, I always remember my prayers to God throughout the years asking Him to let me live long enough to see my children grown and able to take care of themselves. That's not a joke on my husband's abilities, just a mom's plea to see everyone okay and taken care of. And His answer was to be yes, He would allow it. I've been so blessed to be able to not only see my sons grow up happy and healthy but to fall in love and have families of their own giving me daughters and grandchildren to love. I am here witnessing the growth of my family! God is so good!!!

I'm 52 now. I still feel young and alive and know that this is the best time of my life. But there is a war going on now in Israel, and another in Ukraine. For many, it is not their best time and that is heartbreaking to know. Many will not know a family that grows. Many will never see children fall in love and have grandchildren. My heart goes out to them and I pray for God's grace and mercy to be with them. I can't imagine their suffering, but I pray they can find God's blessings where they are and know a time of great celebration is coming for those who are saved through Jesus Christ. Then God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

If God is willing, my family will meet again for Thanksgiving. We'll eat, laugh, and make memories. We'll take pictures to look back on and have stories to tell. We'll keep celebrating our blessings and remembering our Father who gives them.

Happy Birthday Sariah and Eric! I love you!

Here are just some of the MANY photos we took this weekend...
