"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)

How blessed we are to have God's Word written down and easily available to anyone who wants it! The Bible is the most popular and most purchased book in the world! That can't simply be a coincidence. There must be a craving for salvation and for truth that surpasses the need for worldly history, science, math, and everything else we study in our lifetimes! That is saying a lot!
The fact that God has given us His Word to make us perfect shows us how important we are to Him. He doesn't just announce what He wants and then leave it up to us to figure out how to accomplish it. Instead, He has given us every bit of direction we need. He says to use it for learning, growing, sharing, and correcting. It is His desire that we ALL be saved if we would only want it.
In January of 1997, I wanted salvation. I wanted to live my life following Christ and doing God's will. I didn't have to know everything He said at that point, I just needed to believe and have the desire to repent and the willingness to confess Him. After being baptized and being raised out of the water as a new creature, my journey as a child of God began. It's not been perfect sailing as I, to this day, slip and fall. But I am thankful that He pulls me back before I stray too far from the road, forgives me, dusts me off, and lets me start again - like any good parent would do for his child.
I have a Bible that is special to me. I've written in it, highlighted in it, and have family information and photos in it. I've hugged it to my chest in heartfelt emotion. It is God's Inspired Word and is a living and personal thing to me. I couldn't imagine how I could get through my life without it. I am abundantly grateful to have His instruction, guidance, and even correction because that means He loves me and knows I can do better. And I love Him and will happily spend the rest of my life glorifying His name and seeking to do His will.
